Jody

PRACTICE MANAGER

Jody joined Animal Hospital of the Sierra in 2017 after returning to California from a long stint in Oregon. She has over 34 years’ experience in veterinary medicine and is a California RVT and an Oregon CVT. She also has a BS in Hospital Administration and spent the last ten years as the Hospital Manager for the Oregon Humane Society and the Operations Manager for a multi-specialty practice in the Portland, OR area. Most of Jody’s RVT experience has been in specialty surgery and emergency/critical care and her special areas of interest are in surgery, anesthesia, and imaging.

Jody is very happy to be back in the California mountains and enjoys being part of the Animal Hospital of the Sierra team because if its strong commitment to community and drive to provide high quality veterinary care in a low stress environment.

When she’s not working, Jody enjoys spending time with her family and her own animals, which include two dogs, two cats, and a horse. She’s fascinated by the natural sciences and animal behavior.

Kelly

REGISTERED VET TECHNICIAN

Kelly received her RVT after earning a BS in Animal Health Science and his been with Animal Hospital of the Sierra since 2017. She has over 18 years’ experience in veterinary medicine—including positions as a Registered Veterinary Technician, manager, and instructor, and has a special interest in exotic and large animal medicine.

Kelly says her favorite things about working here are helping clients and pets in the community live longer, healthier lives and being an animal advocate. When she’s not busy doing that, Kelly loves spending time with her husband and their three dogs, two cats and pet snake. She enjoys singing, hiking, fishing, and working around her home and property.

Sarah

REGISTERED VET TECHNICIAN

Sarah joined Animal Hospital of the Sierra in 2005 after graduating from the S.J.V.C. Veterinary Technician program and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2010. My special interests within veterinary medicine are dentistry and lab work, and she says her favorite part of her job here is the feeling she gets when a sick or injured pet is well enough to return home. She also loves the family atmosphere at the hospital.

When she’s not spending time with her “work family”, Sarah loves spending time with her family, which includes her husband, two kids, two dogs, three cats, four fish, a Russian tortoise, and a hermit crab. She also enjoys video games, hiking, and sketching.

Tasha

REGISTERED VET TECHNICIAN

Tasha describes herself as the “nerdy girl with two left feet and big glasses” who joined our practice in 2016. She’s been involved with veterinary medicine since 2012 and did her RVT externship here. After graduating from Yosemite High School in 2014, she went to college and earned my associate degree in Veterinary Science. I passed the VTNE in 2017 and am about to receive my RVT license.

At home, Tasha shares her life with three dogs and two cats: Ducky the English Bulldog/Husky mix, Sam and G.G. the bossy terriers, and Natsu and Whiskers the feline contingent who think they’re dogs.

Shannon

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Shannon began her veterinary career with us as a kennel technician and has come a long way—she is now a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She has a special interest in lab work and enjoys using microscopes and reading slides. Shannon credits her continuing success to working with Dr. Taylor, who she describes as an amazing boss, teacher and mentor. She considers her co-workers family who make coming into work each day a pleasure.

Her favorite part of the job? Getting to know clients and their pets, and watching them grow, heal and enjoy life. Shannon says she loves the sense of community and family feel she gets living in this area and working at our hospital.

When she’s not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband Tyler and running after her daughter Autumn. They share their home with two Pomeranian/Chi mixes Bailey and Cocoa, a chiweenie named Peanut, a Catahoula mix named Chevelle, and Finnegan, an orange tabby.

Cherie

After working as a kennel tech in summers during her high school years, Cherie joined Animal Hospital of the Sierra in 2015. She loves fact that she can be involved with people, whether coworkers or clients, who love animals and care about their well-being. She says she’s proud to be part of a team that does their very best to make the the well-being of your pet a priority. She enjoys being on the front line where she can be of direct help to patients and families, easing their anxieties and making their experience at our hospital a positive one.

Cherie shares her home with three dogs and six cats of her own but also rescues, fosters, and rehomes pets to give them a second chance. When she’s not working, Cherie enjoys spending time with her family and in nature.
